Career summary

Rob began his career in fertility as an embryologist with a keen interest in improving IVF success by optimising the embryology environment. Rob trained in a variety of different areas within reproductive science and has latterly focused greater attention towards quality management and the patient experience.

Rob joined CARE Fertility Nottingham in 2003, training as an embryologist and developing his knowledge and skills in all IVF techniques.  During this time, he advanced his training in highly-skilled embryology techniques, becoming established as both an ICSI (a technique in which sperm is injected directly into the egg) and embryo biopsy practitioner.

During his career, Rob has held the scientific positions of senior embryologist and laboratory manager and worked at a number of fertility clinics.  More recently, he has transitioned from the IVF laboratory to the role of Clinic Director at CARE Fertility London, where he leads a fantastic team providing excellent patient care.

Rob is the clinic’s person responsible for regulatory aspects (liaising with the HFEA) and is the Registered Manager for the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  Rob is registered as a clinical scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) - a certification he maintains and is proud to hold!
