Career summary

Miss Goumenou is the lead clinician of fertility services at the East Kent Hospitals University Foundation NHS Trust and lead doctor for CRGH in Kent.

Following training in Greece, London and the West Midlands, she was appointed as an NHS consultant in gynaecology and reproductive medicine and surgery in 2012.

Miss Goumenou is highly experienced in procedures such as advanced endoscopic (“keyhole”) surgery for the treatment of endometriosis, adenomyosis (a condition in which the inner lining of the uterus), fibroids (uterine polyps), pelvic pain, uterine adhesions and ovarian cysts. Anastasia is also specialised in dealing with hormone-related problems such as polycystic ovaries (PCOS) and menstrual disorders.

She completed the RCOG advanced training for infertility and assisted reproductive techniques.

Miss Goumenou holds a specialist interest in the fields of in-vitro fertilisation(IVF) techniques, prevention of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), minimal access surgery (“keyhole”) and recurrent miscarriages.
